lisa and her team have created such a welcome, warm, and special place. i have never had a real membership (that’s not an intro deal) to a yoga studio before because a lot of them just gave me a weird feeling, but i instantly fell in love with The Aura House from the first time i stepped in. the teachers are amazing and there is such a wide variety of classes, at all different levels.
Kate was first drawn to yoga in her first year of University as a way to stretch after working out and to de-stress. For years, she continued to come to the mat in this way. It wasn't until years later that the true benefits of this practice became more clear for her. After suddenly losing her Father to brain cancer, just one month after having her first child, the lines between who she was in this life began to blur. Kate returned to her mat with a deeper sense of curiosity about how she felt during and after a class and began taking classes daily. She was drawn to the feelings coming up for her, yet couldn't quite understand what they were and where they were leading her. Kate then attended a weekend yoga retreat where she felt like she had woken up. She felt a connection to herself, which extended outwardly to feelings of unity with others like she never felt before. Kate is an introvert at heart, which is not apparent until you peel back her layers. She has been described by her close friends as the 'True Yogi', as she is always supporting those around her and helping them find the light within themselves as she travels through this unending Yogic journey. Kate lives in Burlington with her husband, two children, cat, and dog. She believes we have the power to heal ourselves innately once we are willing to go inward and really listen. Yoga to Kate is not just something we do, it is who we are.
