lisa and her team have created such a welcome, warm, and special place. i have never had a real membership (that’s not an intro deal) to a yoga studio before because a lot of them just gave me a weird feeling, but i instantly fell in love with The Aura House from the first time i stepped in. the teachers are amazing and there is such a wide variety of classes, at all different levels.
Let me begin by telling you a story, I was about 10 years old when I began collecting rocks. I used to tell myself they had magical powers, my first crystal piece was a peridot necklace and a rose quartz ring. Over time I let go of the magic behind them and just wore them because I loved them.I was raised in a home where breathwork was important and the elements were always at work to heal you. As I grew older, I began to study yoga, finding my way into a Kripalu class. It was a class that spoke to my soul, using breath and movement as one, where what I did on the mat I could carry into the world. A space I found my physical strength but also my spiritual strength as well. Reiki came later, energy healing was a common practice that I knew, but this Japanese alternative medicine brought a different light to my journey. I spent the last 5 years working my way through the levels, studying, practicing and ensuring I was ready to take on the master class. Meditation was always a bit different for me, it’s something I’ve always practiced but never knew I was, I remember doing my first guided meditation when I was 8 years old, using my ballerina jewelry box as my background music and always starting with the sounds of a babbling brook. It is the foundation of everything I practice, it’s the skill I used to survive but it is also what helped me learn to live.
