Nicky grew up visiting daycares, seniors programs, and observing countless community initiatives spearheaded by her Mom and Grandmother. After graduating high school, Nicky’s passions and interests have always gravitated towards intergenerational community, volunteerism, diversity and inclusion. Nicky completed the Community Rehabilitation Program at Mount Royal College as nominated President of Student Council and has continued to evolve in leadership roles since. With experience in the Intensive Behavioural Intervention Program for Autism, training in adaptive communications, Crisis Prevention, and Least Intrusive Intervention, Nicky offers 20 years of experience working with people with disabilities.
Amazed at the opportunity to join a dance studio, Nicky has missed the freedom and art of dance since leaving it behind in high school. She is excited to explore all that DDW can offer participants, opening the door to unencumbered self expression, self awareness, and greater personal wellness. Nicky offers a gentle, intuitive and multi-faceted skill set, focusing on program development, and volunteer support. She is also passionate about exploring ways to build and foster community within Dubasov Dance and Wellness; extending into the community of people with disabilities, programs within the arts, and all those who are invested in seeking beauty in the people around them.
