So…. I did a thing!
It was a Tibetan Cranial session with Sarah, and it was phenomenal. When you walk into a the Namaste Center, you feel an inviting and loving energy too marvelous for words. Sarah gave me an understanding of what the session would entail and then we began. It was certainly a relaxing and renewing experience that is already calling my soul back for more! I’m already working on a way to make Namaste Center a part of my life more often.

Julie

Julie is a licensed social worker with teaching certification in Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction, the most widely researched program known to reduce stress and enhance well being.  Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) is an eight-week program that introduces you to mindfulness practice in the form of sitting meditation, body awareness and mindful movement/yoga.  It was created by Jon Kabat-Zinn, PhD. at the University of Massachusetts Medical Center. It has been replicated throughout the world and has proven to be an incredibly effective tool for managing pain, depression, anxiety, and stress. Appropriate for kids, teens and adults.   

Julie holds a BA in Psychology from the University of Notre Dame and a Masters in Social Work from Colorado State University.  She began her career at The Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN working with world renowned psychologists, mostly employing Cognitive Behavioral Therapy techniques.  More recently Julie has received extensive training in Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction.  Mindfulness allows individuals to find the space between stimulus and response, this enables them to gain the ability to pause long enough to choose how they want to respond to a situation rather than continuing to react in destructive ways.  This simple tool can be life changing and can enhance your relationships with others in the world.  Julie works from the idea that mindfulness is as important as exercise, sleep and a healthy diet for well being. In today’s world where technology constantly grabs our attention, a mindfulness practice is needed more than ever to give our brains time to just be.  Julie is excited to help you integrate mindfulness into your daily life. Julie is also a Certified Yoga Instructor and may include Yoga Therapy techniques in treatment.

Julie lives in Evergreen with her husband and 4 children.  She is passionate about skiing, biking, yoga, the outdoors and Mindfulness.
