An injury made this competitive endurance athlete - marathon, triathlons, and bicycle racing - grudgingly walk into a yoga studio. Five years later Sonia became an instructor and is increasingly using yoga to help keep her body balanced and manage the stress of a full time job and a growing family.Sonia loves teaching lots of things. She's a Barre instructor, is working on a Pilates certification, a swim coach, and a lifeguard instructor.She loves traveling, food, live music and the great outdoors.“Yoga is a journey both physically and mentally. I am naturally a physically strong type A person. I love how over time, with practice and patience, different muscles open up and allow me to achieve and improve postures I thought I would never be able to do. Yoga has helped me get through several tough times over the years. I am becoming more calm, patient, and accepting of myself and others. I really enjoy sharing bits of my journey with my students and watching them grow in theirs.”“I love everything from power flow to Yin yoga, I like Barre and Pilates. I realize that everyone’s body is different. In all my classes I offer ways to enhance the pose as well as suggest easier modifications both with light-heartedness and a good dose of humor.”
