Supreme Peace has been the perfect place to begin exploring yoga. The pace is slow and easy and deliberate. Jodie and Tiffany are in tune with each student’s needs and are very welcoming and encouraging. The studio is light and bright and peaceful. I love it here!
I came to yoga to balance my high intensity fitness regimen. Life happens, and due to some significant chronic illnesses, my journey took an unpredictable change. The one constant through these struggles was my yoga practice. It not only helped me physically, but mentally as coming to my mat was the one thing, that despite all that was going on, allowed me to work through my new life journeys. This time was my “It’s not what you do on the mat, but what you learn on the way down” moment and I knew yoga would continue to be life altering if I allowed it.
Not one to give up easily on goals I was still determined to obtain my Yoga Teaching Certification, a goal I had set for myself many moons ago, so I could help spread the word that yoga truly is for ALL bodies regardless of physical or mental capabilities or limitations. I am a firm believer in the emotional, mental and physical healing powers of yoga, and not just the physical asanas but all that the world of yoga has to offer. Completing my YTT training at Supreme Peace in Oct 2017 was more life changing for me than I could have ever imagined. Naturally a big kid at heart, I love working with families and youth, to spread the joy of yoga, particularly those who feel like they might not quite fit in.
Off the mat I stay busy as a very active Aunt to a large handful of nieces and nephews. I love to enrich their lives with not only yes, yoga, but music and the arts as well. I am a firm believer in all forms of play and finding joy in all our surroundings.
