Audrey Kalman has been a birth doula since 2003 and a volunteer with the Nursing Mothers Counsel since 2000. She has worked with hundreds of families to assist them through the process of birth and early breastfeeding. Her approach to supporting and educating families is gentle and parent-focused. She teaches Breastfeeding Basics at Blossom and occasionally subs for parent/baby groups. She loves introducing parents to the cool things the human body does to make milk for babies (she’s a bit of a science geek) and answering questions that come up about breastfeeding both before and after the baby is born.In her other career as a fiction writer, Audrey has published two novels and a book of short stories, has another completed novel in search of an agent, and is almost done with another. She’s an active member of the SF Peninsula Branch of the California Writers Club.
