Creatively employing the tried and true Yogic focus on the power
of breath, Paula supports busy folks in their quest for greater
body-mind health by expertly facilitating classes dedicated to the
primacy of pranayama in asana. With a focus on daily rediscovery of
beauty, wonder and awe, her classes invite the practitioner into
compassionate relationship with the uniqueness of his/her
body-mind. Kindhearted scaffolding for maintaining balance between
current experiences in yoga and possible future goals is a hallmark
of her style.
Paula initially trained in Anusara, obtained her RYT 200 in
2005, and has taught extensively in the Napa Valley. Ever the
curious student, she has benefitted from studying with a wide
variety of asana, pranayama, and philosophy teachers. The personal
and collective health benefits of relaxed “altered states of
consciousness” are an unending source of personal intrigue, which
continually keeps her Yoga quest fresh. As a retired nurse and
25-year veteran in the fitness industry, Paula focuses on enjoyable
and sustainable body-mind health for the long haul. She finds that
the sensitivity and safety afforded in attention to pranayama/asana
alignment an important key in creatively sustaining the
life-affirming gift of a dedicated Yoga practice.
