Michaela originally came to yoga for its physical benefits. She
was a long distance runner suffering from back and hip pain.
Through regular practice her back started feeling better and she
found more ease in her running. In the process of the physical
practice she discovered the mental benefits of spending time on her
Her practice taught her to breathe through discomfort, to acknowledge her own strength and to grow more peaceful her daily life.
But it wasn't until she was diagnosed with Stage 3 breast cancer in 2015 that she truly became open to the possibility of living her life to her fullest potential. Her yoga practice has changed immensely after surgery and radiation but it has supported her through over a year of treatment and years into her recovery.
“How you do anything is how you do everything” and that holds true for all of us. What we practice on our mats translates directly into our lives. Michaela's passion is to empower her students to live bigger lives, to give up self limiting beliefs and to practice compassion for themselves as well as for their communities.
Michaela has been working in health and well being for 30 years. Beginning as a cardiology tech in her 20s she moved to being a personal trainer for over ten years until she dicoverd the life changing qualities of yoga which she has been teaching for over 10 years.
