I tried Body Pump for the first time tonight with Angie. I love how energetic and encouraging she was! She gave a lot of great explanations and modifications. No shame if you can’t keep up or do something wrong. I’m used to going walking up to 7 miles at a brisk pace on a trail without stopping, but my legs felt the difference in this class!!! I definitely got a good workout in despite my shakey knees, wobbly legs and occasional lack of coordination, but I was also reassured that it’s normal for it to feel tough at first. I loved mixing it up!
I am excited to be a part of the LJ’s Fitness family. I am a senior at ELCO High. I plan on going to college to study exercise science to one day have a fitness institution of my own. A little more about myself is that I moved here from Jamaica a few years ago. I participate in school activities such as musicals, the ELCO choir, track and field as a sprinter and soccer as a forward. I am heavily involved in my church and community activities. Those activities include church cook outs, youth group, voluntary weed whacking and a community project which involved being on a poster and a billboard to help reduce the use of alcohol and drugs among teens.
