Darius Jones is energetic and self-motivated with a passion for Human Performance. With enthusiasm for athletics and a player for the University of Memphis football team in 2002, he began looking for ways to maximize his own athletic performance. From there, the fuse was lit to change his major from Business to Health & Human Performance. In 2006, Darius received his B.S. in Science & Education with emphasis in Health & Human Performance. In his senior year, he completed a strength & conditioning internship under Coach Lee Yerty where he assisted the University of Memphis men’s golf team, Lady Tiger’s basketball team, and volleyball team, cross country and track & field.After Graduating, Darius took an entry level position at the Fogelman YMCA; where he began to assist in the planning, developing, and reinforcing all aspects of fitness and fitness programming through his AFAA certification. Darius Jones was promoted from entry level staff to Assistant Fitness Director while simultaneously working at Southwest Community College as an Adjunct Professor.  In 2009, Darius became a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist through the NSCA where he began to train high school athletes and contributed to a number of athletes earning athletic scholarships in a multitude of sports.In 2010, Darius began attending U.S. Sports Academy and started an apprenticeship under Ryan Cidzik and to assist with strength & conditioning with the U of M football in 2011.  Darius assisted in fitness testing, computation of results and teaching proper lifting techniques. He also developed and monitored strength and conditioning programs for collegiate athletes in individualized and group settings.  He received his Master’s in Sport Science in 2012 from U.S. Sports Academy and became a certified Sports Performance Coach through USAW.He began working as a Movement Specialist for Church Health Center and again promoted within the company to Exercise & Movement Coordinator where he worked in conjunction with E & M manager to develop, implement and coordinate employee outreach programs. He coordinated new training programs for the general population as well as athletes. In 2015, he began working part time as a Strength & Speed coach at D1 Sports supervising weigh training and conditioning programs. He coached classes and consulted with members on how to improve athletic performance. In 2016, Darius became a certified Tactical Strength & Conditioning Facilitator through the NSCA.When D1 Sports and Church Health Center discontinued operations, Darius became a Lifetime Wellness teacher and coach at Kingsbury High school.  He coached football as well as boys & girls track. He served as the Strength Coach in a number of sports in the school such as baseball, boys’ and girls’ basketball and football.  During his tenure, the winning percentage increased and injuries decreased. He now joins the Campbell Clinic family as a Sports Performance Coach in our new state of the art Accel Performance and Wellness facility.He is the husband of Latrena Jones, and father of Briana.
