Margarita
Margarita Montaner Born and raised in Mexico City Margarita began dancing at 5 years of age under the musical inspiration of her Latin, Mexican and Spanish roots. She graduated from the University of Mexico in Tourism and Travel at the same time she completed her career as Dance Instructor in Ballet, Mexican Folk, Flamenco and Classical Spanish Dance.
Margarita is a professional Spanish dancer, a former member of the Mexican National Dance Company, a certified Fitness Instructor with the Alberta Fitness Leadership Certification Association, a certified Zumba instructor and a Hatha Yoga teacher in training with the Yoga Association of Alberta. In addition, Margarita has expanded her training by taking numerous workshops in Flamenco, Ballroom, Country and Latin dance in Mexico, Spain and Canada.
Margarita’s performing experience includes the opening of the Key City Theatre in Cranbrook, the International Folk Festival in Kimberley, the Fairmont Hot Springs Resort, Alberta Winter Games, the Festival of Trees at the Westerner Park, the Glenbow Museum, the Banff Arts Centre, The Masters at Spruce Meadows and the Jack Singer Hall in Calgary where she shared the stage with the internationally-renowned Latin guitar player Pavlo. Margarita shares her passion for music and movement by inspiring others to cast off their inhibitions, to open up their hearts and express themselves up to the power of music and dance.
