Melissa Metro began her dance career in Philly where she received her BFA in Dance from the University of the Arts. Immersed in Philly’s hip hop scene, she was asked to dance for Illstyles and Peace Productions, a touring hiphop company. She was also privileged enough to dance with Smoke,Lilies and Jade, Archedream for Humankind and was trained by Clyde Evans of Chosen Dance. This is also the time she became certified in group ex and yoga, and began teaching in gyms, schools and corporate offices all over Philadelphia. Upon returning to Chicago she returned to Joel Hall, her first studio, guested with Chicago Dance Crash, Paul Sanasardo, Isabelle Collazzo  and Nicole Wood. She also entered multiple hiphop battles,  begam to teach various styles of hip hop and reinstated open breaking practices at Clerenden Park.. She is now a founding member of The MetDown Dance Collective.
