Today was my first day taking virtual contortion and handstand press classes with KY Dance. I found my instructor (Victoria K) over Instagram and after following her for some months, I decided to give her classes a try. I'm an adult learner, so I was curious about how well a virtual session would go. I liked that the class size was small, and the instructor gave feedback evenly to each student. Even though there were students on different levels, there was always an adaptable skill for each level, so no one was left out. The classes were well-balanced with strengthening, technique work, and skills, so you never got bored. I'm very excited about continuing classes, and how far I can progress in these courses!

She competed all over the GTA and has received many special awards and scholarships throughout her competitive career. She trained in a variety of styles, including ballet (RAD) and pointe, jazz, lyrical, contemporary, acro, tap, and hip hop. At Performance Dance Academy, Caitlin began assistant teaching pre-dance at the age of 12, and continued to assistant teach a variety of classes, including competitive classes.

After graduating, Caitlin had a keen interest in teaching and choreography ever since choreographing her own solo in her graduating year. She has choreographed acro routines for Connections Dance Collective located in Guelph, ON and has taught several combo classes in jazz, lyrical/contemporary, and hip hop.

As a student at the University of Ottawa, Caitlin has been highly involved with the Gee Gees Dance Team, choreographing a contemporary and open group in her first year, and continuing to choreograph as Assistant Captain, and now Captain. In her time as Assistant Captain, she taught many classes such as conditioning, lyrical/contemporary, jazz, and jazz funk.

Caitlin is currently the Creative Director of CASCO Charity Organization, a student-run charity organization through the Telfer School of Management at University of Ottawa, which aims to raise money for CHEO. She was a choreographer for CASCO in 2020 and choreographed several routines in styles of jazz funk, jazz, and contemporary before moving on to become the Creative Director.

Caitlin has always had a passion for dance and is excited to join the KV family to bring her passion to dancers in Ottawa.
