My first Modern with Yvonne Gagliardo class from Aging Creatively series was inspiring, beautiful and challenging. I turned 55 last summer, and was contemplating joining San Diego Dance Theater's classes for 55+ ever since. Today, I finally found courage to try one such class. The teacher and the dancers were very welcoming and gave me lots of praise. I really enjoyed proper dance routines, and dance combinations. I had not done any dancing for a really long time, so it was a comforting feeling that I still have some movement left in my body.
Cecily Holcombe discovered dance while attending UCSD, where she studied with Jean Isaacs, Margaret Marshall, and Terry Wilson. After graduating, she moved to San Francisco and performed with Liss Fain Dance and Kersti Grunditz. In San Diego, she has danced for Patricia Rincon Dance Collective, Jean Isaacs, Allyson Greene, Terry Wilson, Anne Gehman, Monica Bill Barnes, and Lavina Rich’s Push Process. She is currently performing with Blythe Barton Dance and is in her fifth season with San Diego Dance Theater.
