My first Modern with Yvonne Gagliardo class from Aging Creatively series was inspiring, beautiful and challenging. I turned 55 last summer, and was contemplating joining San Diego Dance Theater's classes for 55+ ever since. Today, I finally found courage to try one such class. The teacher and the dancers were very welcoming and gave me lots of praise. I really enjoyed proper dance routines, and dance combinations. I had not done any dancing for a really long time, so it was a comforting feeling that I still have some movement left in my body.
- Ron Davis is a 24 year old who began dancing eight years ago with the transcenDANCE Youth Arts Project, where his love for dance was nurtured. He went on to study at The University of The Arts in Philadelphia, PA for two years where he studies modern, ballet and jazz. Ron Davis trained and performed with the CAC Repertory Dance Theater upon his return to San Diego. Ron performed and choreographed for San Diego City College from 2013 – 2015 to further his experience in the field of dance and make new connections. Ron has been featured in many local performances and dance events including the San Diego Trolley Dances, the San Diego Dance Theatre’s Choreographers Awards, and most recently in Erica Buechner’s, Dying Swan. Ron is a sought-after budding dancer and choreographer in San Diego known for his unique ability to blend contemporary modern dance with Afro-centric and hip-hop fusion.
