My first Modern with Yvonne Gagliardo class from Aging Creatively series was inspiring, beautiful and challenging. I turned 55 last summer, and was contemplating joining San Diego Dance Theater's classes for 55+ ever since. Today, I finally found courage to try one such class. The teacher and the dancers were very welcoming and gave me lots of praise. I really enjoyed proper dance routines, and dance combinations. I had not done any dancing for a really long time, so it was a comforting feeling that I still have some movement left in my body.
Daniel Marshall began his dance career in California at the San Diego Creative School of Performing Arts. Soon after Graduation, he went to New York to accept a scholarship at the Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater. By 1997, he set several pieces including “Blessed Assurance” which received the Tommy Award for Best Male Performer/Choreographer. In 2001 Dance Magazine named Daniel one of its “25 to Watch”. Daniel Received National Choreography Award NE in 2002. In 2004 and 2009 Daniel was a finalist in Palm Desert Choreography Festival. He is now Artistic Director of LaDiego Dance Theater and The Dance Conservatory.
