Madeleine

Madeleine started taking dance lessons when she was four years old, and has continued to practice and pursue the art form of dance for the past eighteen years. She is currently a fourth-year BFA candidate at the University of South Florida and has years dance training experience in ballet, modern dance, contemporary, jazz, hip-hip, and improvisation. Madeleine received rigorous dance training beginning at an early age from attending the Louisville Ballet School in Louisville, Kentucky and has received scholarships and trained with a variety of programs including the Cincinnati Ballet, Kirov Academy of Ballet, Next Generation Ballet, the Carolina Civic Ballet, Florida State University, and the American Ballet Theatre summer program. Madeleine has choreographic experience ranging from choreographed work that was premiered at the Southeast Regional Ballet Association Emerging Choreographers Showcase in North Carolina at the 2015 Regional Dance America Festival, to just recently premiering her newest choreographed solo work at the 2022 USF Student Dance Concert. Collegiately, Madeleine has performed in works for dance concert pieces at the University of South Florida Dance Department’s Fall and Spring Dance Concerts and has had opportunities to perform for organizations like the Performing Arts Medicine Association. Professionally, Madeleine has experience doing a variety of commercial dance gigs including dancing in the Straz Center for the Performing Arts 2022-2023 Broadway Kickoff show and has a depth of experience with dance film work, such as the work done by Central Florida Choreographers Collaboration. Madeleine has summer internship experience as the Head Resident Assistant at the 2021 Next Generation Ballet Summer Intensive in Tampa, Florida and as a Resident Assistant for the 2022 Alonzo King LINES Summer Intensive Program in San, Francisco California. She currently work as a faculty dance teacher at DanceBox Studio and DanceDen in Tampa, Florida teaching ballet, contemporary ballet, and jazz classes. Madeleine is set to graduate from the University of South Florida in the spring of 2023 with a bachelor's in fine arts in dance performance with a minor in psychology. Her experience in psychological research with dance allowed her to become a dance research participant in study with Labodanse at Centre National de la Recherche Scientifique while attending the 2022 University of South Florida Dance in Paris Summer Program.
