The Studio teaches in accordance with the ABT National Training
Curriculum, which presents technique and unaffected artistry in a
systematic fashion. This approach allows the student to develop
technique, strength, flexibility, and artistry in a way that is
safe for their bodies.
Dancers will find that The Studio is a safe and nurturing
environment to explore the art of dance and movement.
Special instructions Here are the nuts and bolts of
getting into and out of class:
-Please arrive
not sooner than 20 minutes prior to class start.
-Your
dancer should come prepared in her dance attire with a warmup or
street clothing over top. Your dancer may wear their own mask on
entry and during class.
-Please drop your dancer off at
the front door (opposite McDonald's. This door used to be
locked...it is now our entry door.)
-You/your dancer will be
scanned for their temperature, and to dispense hand
sanitizer. If your dancer cannot use sanitizer, then he/she
will be directed to the washroom to immediately wash up.
-You/your dancer will be able to
prepare for class in the dressing AND the center studio area to
allow for distancing between students.
-Dancers will wear their masks
during class. Please let me know if this is an issue for
you/your dancer.
-Dancers will bring their
belongings with them into the studio and take assigned places at
the barre. The studio will be marked into 4 sq yd sections,
one for each dancer. There will be only one dancer on either
side of the barre. We will also do center work and jumping,
but we will not travel across the floor.
-When
class is completed, the dancers will put on their coverups and
depart the studio using the REAR doors on the tree side of the
building.
***If your dancer, or anyone in your
household, has symptoms of sore throat, cough, chills, body aches,
shortness of breath, loss of smell, loss of taste, or fever greater
than 100 degrees Fahrenheit please STAY HOME.
Here are the Backstage happenings:
-The
Studio is disinfected throughout the ENTIRE facility with a
viricidal/bactericidal disinfectant per CDC
recommendations.
-All
students and staff are checked for fever, and attendance records
will be maintained for contact tracing purposes. Should we be
made aware of a positive exposure at The Studio, we will be able to
inform those affected.
-The
new barres that we have at The Studio have an antimicrobial paint
finish on them.
-We
will be wearing masks, and when possible have the doors open for
increased air flow.
-Between any classes, ample time
will be allowed for departing dancers to depart, to fog The Studio
space with disinfectant, and allow it to dry before the new class
may enter the building.
-No
guests/visitors are allowed at this time.
