KJ was great! Provided (cultural) context behind the movements, corrections, and a bit of comic relief, too. So great to be outside. Also, happy to see that folx in the park weren't bothered by us. A completely joyful experience. See you next week, Socaholics! :)
Talia is a creative, and versatile dancer, teacher and choreographer based out of Toronto. She has also been a part time teacher at City Dance Corps since 2017.
Talia has been a passionate competitive dancer from age three having trained extensively in Lyrical, Contemporary, Acrobatics, Jazz, Tap and Ballet. Talia has also drawn on her experiences as a competitive gymnast, integrating gymnastic inspired techniques and coaching within her acrobatics course.
Talia graduated from McGill University with a Bachelor of Commerce. While attending, McGill Talia continued to pursue her love of dance and was selected to be part of the Contemporary dance company called Mosaica for three years. While training with Mosaica, Talia strengthened her dance knowledge and teaching techniques across various genres.
Talia has also performed in performances at New York City’s Capezio ACE Awards, The Pulse and Toronto’s Choreographer Ball. She’s placed 3rd overall for senior soloist division at NUVO’s Nationals and won several dance scholarships to attend summer workshops in NYC (e.g. The Pulse) while competing.
Talia continues to share her passion for dance, encouraging students to challenge themselves by giving them the training and tools to achieve their goals. Her formal management and organizational skills help round out Talia’s ability to get the most out of her dancers. Talia is both excited and honored to be a part of City Dance Corps faculty and can’t wait to see what 2019 has in store!
