MING-BO LAM (she/her) is a multi-disciplinary creative, educator and dance artist, blazing a unique path through the Canadian commercial and contemporary dance landscape.
With over 15 years of experience in the industry, Ming-Bo is recognized for her ability to lead with unwavering empathy, integrity and courage, and is known for her work in facilitating safe and educational spaces for novice and professional movers alike.
With a career that continues to flourish, Ming-Bo has choreographed for theatre and film productions, independent dance projects and commissions. Select credits include the Much Music Video Awards, the Toronto Raptors’ Dance Pak, The Umbrella Academy, Sogand, PSY, Fashion Art Toronto, and the NBA All Star Weekend. Her performance and choreography dance film work has been featured by The Dance Current, the Toronto International Short Film Festival, and the Utah Dance Film Festival.
Ming-Bo possesses a diverse and well-rounded educational background. She graduated with an Honours BFA in Theatre Performance Dance from Toronto Metropolitan (Ryerson) University, where she was also selected as valedictorian. She also holds a Master’s in Management Innovation and Entrepreneurship degree from Queens University’s Smith School of Business.
Ming-Bo operates with the belief that empowering dance artists with business acumen and know-how can help shift the power imbalances in the dance industry and create more sustainable, long-term careers. It is this belief, blended with her impressive artistic accomplishments, that have led Ming-Bo to become a three-time speaker at the Dancer Transition Resource Centre’s (DTRC) ‘On The Move’ conference. Her presentation on ‘Building a Digital Portfolio’ was also featured as part of the DTRC’s 2022 national workshop series.
