About the Class

This class is tailored to emphasize the Hand-to-Hand discipline, concentrating on foundational skills and movements that foster a dynamic and advanced practice. Participants will develop their Foot-to-Hand and Hand-to-Hand fundamentals in both supine and standing positions. Throughout this class, we will cultivate essential body awareness, flexibility, stability, and strength necessary for excelling in this discipline. This class is intended for those with prior experience in acrobatics with a partner or a recent background in gymnastics or partner stunting. What to Expect: Warm-Up and Conditioning: Each session begins with a thorough warm-up to prepare your body for the physical activity ahead. We'll focus on stretching, mobility exercises, and basic strength conditioning to ensure you are ready to take on the challenges of acrobatics. Fundamental Techniques: Our experienced instructors will guide you through the essential techniques of hand-to-hand acrobatics. You will learn proper hand placements, grips, and body alignment to safely and effectively perform basic acrobatic moves. Partner Work: The effectiveness of hand-to-hand techniques hinges on establishing trust with a partner. That's why this class is designated as Partner Required. We may encourage students to switch partners for practice purposes. Safety: First: Safety is our top priority. Our instructors emphasize proper technique and spotting to prevent injuries and ensure a secure learning experience. Who Should Join: This class is open to students with partners and prior experience in acrobatics. Students will be asked to meet the following requirements before attending class: Skil Requirements: -Can tuck/straddle into a handstand with the ability to turn out safely. Attendance in our Handstand classes or a general handstand course is strongly recommended. -1 minute hold in supine low and extended F2H with form. -Comfortable moving, jumping and squatting in two high. -Understanding of basic lifts such as camel, bird and blackfly. -Basic tumbling knowledge including forward/backward rolls, handstands and cartwheels. Conditioning Requirements: -30 second handstand hold belly to the wall (Base & Flyer) -15 second tuck sit hold (Base and Flyer) -5 push ups (Base and Flyer) -5 90 Degree Leg Lifts (Base and Flyer) -5 hip height box jumps (Base and Flyer) -Front Squat with form (Base) -Push Press with form ( Base) -Power Clean with form (Base) -Kettle Bell Swing for Form (Base) What to Wear: Come dressed in comfortable, form-fitting athletic wear that allows for a full range of motion. Avoid loose clothing that could get in the way during activities. Bare feet or flexible shoes are recommended. What to Bring: Comfortable, form-fitting athletic attire A water bottle to stay hydrated A positive attitude and willingness to work collaboratively We provide chalk. Liquid chalk is not permitted on our mats.

Special Instructions

SPECIAL INSTRUCTIONS This class is partner required and both partners MUST be registered to hold their spot. Wear athletic clothing FREE of any zippers. We caution against excessively baggy clothes or clothes that expose the back of the knees or mid-section. Remove jewelry from fingers, wrists, neck, and any earrings that could tear or become caught. Bring a water bottle.
