Rachel Randall’s earliest memory is of dancing.  As a kid she was a competitive gymnast and figure skater, and had her first circus performing experiences with Professor Bud’s Mini Circus in Yakima WA.  As a teen she concentrated on Modern dance with teachers like Michelle Miller, Wade Madsen, and Amii Legendre at Velocity Dance Center in Seattle, and ballet with Lisa Price at The Yakima School of Ballet.  She furthered her dance education by earning a Professional Diploma in Dance Studies from London’s Trinity Laban in 2003 followed by a BA in dance and in anthropology from the University of Washington in 2007.She spent the next 11 years as a freelance dancer in Seattle, doing several productions with Seattle Opera and Khambatta Dance Company, and as a circus coach, coaching everything from unicycle to flying trapeze at the School of Acrobatics and New Circus Arts (SANCA) in Seattle. Starting in 2013, she created and taught a year-long dance curriculum for SANCA’s pre-professional track program. She also met her now-husband Nick, and they created Duo Straight Up with a duo Chinese pole act that they went on to perform nationally with the Venardos Circus, the Anastasini Circus, the Zoppé Family Circus, and Circus Kirkus before the pandemic closed the shows.  The shows were in tents! In 2021 she went back to coaching circus & dance at Pop-Up Movement in Port Townsend, WA. Rachel has always been most at home in the worlds of dance and circus, finding fun ways to combine them, creating beauty, telling stories, entertaining herself and others.  She loves helping her students make impossible skills become possible!  She is excited to share her knowledge and love of circus and dance, and to be a part of the community at Laché Movement Co.
