I hurt my lower back while playing soccer and was in immense pain. I went to the chiropractor, did acupuncture, but nothing was helping to manage my pain. I went to functional patterns and saw immediate results. Not only did they help ease my lower back pain but they also helped me reach my fitness goals. I personally feel like a trainer at a regular gym just makes a plan and tells me to lift weights. However, Brandon at FP Texas is very good at telling you how to specifically correct your posture and the way you move while being active. This leads to overall fitness and long term healthy posture.
I grew up in Houston, Texas always finding time to stay active. Whether it was playing basketball, rollerblading or skateboarding, I always had to be on the move. With the more extreme sports came risk of injury. Through the years of my skateboard career I experienced tons of hard falls entailing: ankle sprains and ligament damage, but I never let it stop me.
After High School my time became more invested in music studies. During that time of life I was experiencing chronic pain in my lower back, neck and or my whole body in general. By the time I turned 20 I adapted to the pain unknowingly and eventually started to develop high anxiety. Then one day I received a therapeutic massage from a good friend. The amount of relief I experienced was out of this world. I literally felt like a new person. As if I hit a magic reset button and all of my pain & anxiety subsided substantially. From that moment on I realized my calling in life. I became very optimistic and motivated to learn as much as I could about massage, self care, and all round a healthier lifestyle.
Within that year I went to the Austin Community College and received my license to become a Massage Therapist. With the knowledge I learned I was able to manage my pain significantly, but it still lingered here and there. After a couple of years of being a Massage Therapist I became highly interested in learning how to manage pain and realign structures through exercise. So I decided to become a Personal Trainer through the National Academy of Sport's Medicine. Through what I learned and researched, I began to implement within my own exercise regimen. I tested all of the corrective exercise techniques to help fix my imbalances and was never able to sustain long term results.
About a year later I fortunately crossed paths with a Master Practitioner of Functional Patterns, Nina Chou. From then on I set aside everything I learned and mentored under her for a year. Through Functional Patterns methodology I was able to address my imbalances and eliminate the chronic pain within weeks. Once gaining a competent understanding of Functional Patterns I began to implement the methodology with clients. The results we produce in a short amount of time are very profound and the long term results are even more so. After witnessing structural change and functionality gain with clients I then became fortunate enough to learn from the founder himself, Naudi Aguilar. So in March of 2017 I took an extensive 2 week course and obtained my Human Biomechanics Specialist Certification. Through experiencing how Functional Patterns is changing my life and the lives of my clients I solely train through these methods.
So here I am today in Austin, Texas pursuing the reason of my existence, to help others achieve an optimal and sustainable well being for the rest of their life.
