You have so much fun during the class that time flies - but at the end you are done, because it is great cardio too. I've recruited a friend and she confirmed she's definitely registering again. If you love dance classes (or even if you are not sure you do), this class is for you - you won't be disappointed :)
Fitness and health became a priority in my life after high school. I started for the wrong reasons, and ended up continuing for all the right reasons. Weightlifting became my weapon against negative self talk, low self-esteem, and severe depression. I began bodybuilding and researching. (Looking back, a lot of what I learned was false, as there’s a ton of bad information out there).
My early career as a trainer consisted of getting a CanFitPro weekend certification, and trying my hand at a BigBox Gym. This is when I discovered: the lack of sincerity, the corporate undercurrent, and the severe lacking in the Fitness Industry.
At this point I realized I wanted to help raise the bar, so I took a course called ATS (Arko Training Systems) and then went to Fanshawe College for 3 years and received my diploma in Fitness and Health Promotion. FHP at Fanshawe is regarded as one of the best (and most difficult) Fitness and Health Promotion programs in Canada. During the program I was chosen as a candidate to complete my placement at the private gym of Fanshawe where I trained paramedic students and Fanshawe faculty.
I specialize in: corrective bodybuilding; injury prevention/prehabilitation; body composition change; adaptive exercise for special populations; posture correction.
Not only do I effectively train my clients, but I also educate them. I ensure that my clients have the knowledge to filter out the bad information that surrounds us regarding fitness. I inform my clients as to why we do what we do, and how it works for them.
I’m not just your trainer an hour at a time; I’m working for you all the time, and I’m a resource for you to utilize.
Outside of the gym I love music, visual art, poetry, stand-up comedy, hiking trails, and a good craft beer.
