Barre Evolution is amazing. You utilize the ballet barre as a prop, but you to use your own body weight as resistance. There is stretching between segments, utilizing techniques from Pilates, yoga, and ballet. The goal is to create long, lean muscles and a toned bod - the dream. The music is upbeat and the energy is rocking. All the instructors have their own flare, but do a great job of keeping us all focused and engaged.. The studio vibe is so comfortable (dry shampoo and hair spray available after every workout, please and thank you). I get really excited to go to a studio over the gym. Leaving class, my muscles felt fatigued. The next day I could feel the work I've done my triceps, my thighs and my lower butt. You know, the part of the butt that connects to the leg. Who doesn’t want to tighten and tone that area?! Such an energizing workout, highly recommended.

Nicole
Nicole is co-owner and co-creator of the Barre Evolution Method, certified Pilates Instructor & Owner of Mt. Pleasant Pilates & Wellness. Nicole discovered Lotte Berk in London in the early '90s and loved that a low-impact workout could yield such high-impact results. In 2005, she began studying and training to create her own barre certification program and in 2008, launched Body by Barre as a complement to the Pilates classes offered at her studio. Nicole holds a barre certification with 25 year barre veteran Debbie Frank; a renowned NYC teacher trainer with a celebrity and cult following. She is also Charleston's only Certified Pre and Postnatal Pilates Specialist and created the Pre and Postnatal Evolution program at Barre Evolution. Nicole earned a Bachelor's degree from the University of South Carolina and an MBA from The Citadel.
