Barre Evolution is amazing. You utilize the ballet barre as a prop, but you to use your own body weight as resistance. There is stretching between segments, utilizing techniques from Pilates, yoga, and ballet. The goal is to create long, lean muscles and a toned bod - the dream. The music is upbeat and the energy is rocking. All the instructors have their own flare, but do a great job of keeping us all focused and engaged.. The studio vibe is so comfortable (dry shampoo and hair spray available after every workout, please and thank you). I get really excited to go to a studio over the gym. Leaving class, my muscles felt fatigued. The next day I could feel the work I've done my triceps, my thighs and my lower butt. You know, the part of the butt that connects to the leg. Who doesn’t want to tighten and tone that area?! Such an energizing workout, highly recommended.

Everyone is welcome at Open Level Barre where instructors offer challenging exercises with variations suitable for all skill levels, including modifications for those returning from injury or pregnancy. Instructors always show students how to work at a beginner, intermediate or advanced level. The 60-minute class begins with a warm-up that includes pushups, planks and upper-body weight work. This is followed by thigh, glute and abdominal exercises at the barre or center floor. The abs are further strengthened and toned with intense core-conditioning and the thighs and glutes are again sculpted with thigh and back dancing. Deep, isometric stretches are used to fully stretch and lengthen muscles after each set of exercises. Barre Evolution classes offer personalized attention to ensure correct posture and alignment. Classes are non-impact and the pace is very athletic, weaving from strengthening to stretching exercises nonstop, much like interval training. NO classical ballet experience is necessary.
