Summary of various feedback:
1) When you visit the rink for the first time, VERBALLY ask someone about their skate school! I learned everything through my coach who's been working at that rink for a while. Without them, I would have known nothing or its existence!!!
2) In general, most of the ice skating classes in NYC are for children or they don't fit a working adult schedule. The adult classes at Wollman started at 8:00am, which was ok for those who worked nearby or could travel to work by 9am.
3) I did not find the information to sign up for the adult skating classes as it's on a completely different website. Instead of wollmanrinknyc site it was on wellnessliving site. Might be better if there was a hyperlink between the sites in the future.
4) The freestyle season pass was cost effective, IF you go to the sessions majority of the week on top of staying for more than an hour. It wasn't $30 per session with a season pass. Definitely, calculate how much you'll be spending per session (especially comparing to other rinks) vs a season pass both depending on how often you want to skate throughout the week.

Lisa

Lisa Parra is a figure skater and coach. She has been skating professionally for 25 years. As a performer
she skated with City of Angels Ice Theater in Los Angeles, CA and Ice Theater of New York with husband
and ice dance partner Tim Fujioka. Lisa began teaching at Wollman Rink in the Fall of 2011 and was a
coach at Figure Skating in Harlem from 2014-2018. Her coaching style is based on her experiences as an
ice dancer and her work with artistic ice ensembles, focusing on strong basic skills, edge control, flow,
speed and alignment. She believes that ice skating should be accessible to all, and enjoys teaching and
sharing her passion for the sport with both children and adults of all levels.
In addition to her figure skating career, Lisa Parra is also an accomplished dance artist. She has earned
undergraduate and master degrees in Dance from the University of California Irvine and UCLA and is a
Certified Movement Analyst from the Laban Institute of Movement Studies in New York. Lisa recently was
2017-2019 Movement Research Artist-in-Residence in NYC and recipient of the Mertz-Gilmore
commission. Her work has been presented nationally and internationally.
