I am very happy to have Derick Pierson as an Instructor at Pixie Fitness. Derick Pierson began his pole dancing and circus career almost three years ago. Starting later in life due to injuries generated by car accidents, he developed a “never give up attitude”. As an ex-cheerleader he has a background in tumbling and a very competitive drive. At the age of eighteen he commenced training with the South Florida Circus Arts School in Miami Florida. He has trained in contortion, trapeze, silks, and aerial cube. Discovering his love for pole Derick started through self-teaching, and then branched out to find Allison Sipes (USPDF Pro/ Master X-pert Trainer) his teacher, and friend. With her help he started his competitive pole career. Derick is now the Male American Pole Fitness Champion for 2011, and the IPC 2ND place Pole Art Champion 2010, and he recently won National Aerial Pole Art 2012 Championship. Derick was just voted in Pole Dance International magazine Best new artist, best pole flexibility, and best over all male performer! He has also been featured in Pole spin, and Vertical Art and Fitness magazines. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mmRyXQziV8g
NANETTE WESTON
After suddenly becoming a widow with a 6 year old child, Nanette had spent the following years focused solely on keeping their home and raising her son. Then one day, after watching a week of Oprah Winfrey episodes that encouraged mothers to take time and do something for themselves, her sons baseball game was rained out. So with Oprahs urging to be adventurous replaying in her head, she rushed to make the beginning of a pole dance class! That day in 2010 was her very first exposure in her life to pole dance, which just happened to be right before her 50th Birthday! She was instantly captivated and from that moment on it was her own head urging her back everyday! So now, in addition to being a devoted parent, she was also a determined and devoted pole dance student, and In less than one year, (while still at the age of 50) Nanette became a pole dance instructor herself! As a teacher the opportunity to meet and hopefully inspire other mothers, and woman of all ages to take time, and care of themselves was a rewarding as the sport itself!
It was one year later (2011 and now 51 years old!) Nanette began her 4 years training at Florida Circus School in Davie Florida where she focused mainly on aerial silks, aerial hammock, lyra and contortion. In preparation to becoming an aerial hammock instructor in 2012 she traveled to learn all she could to develope one of the areas first structured aerial hammock classes that combined both traditional aerial sling and actual arial performance moves. In Addition to the Florida Circus School, she also frequently trained at the Sky Gym of Atlanta,Georgia and Anti-Gravity of Orlando,Fl. When she wasn't teaching or training she sometimes could be seen performing, and was featured in the Florida's “Grey Matters”magazine. Whether training, teaching or performing Nanette enjoys every moment she gets to participate herself, or motivate someone else to enjoy the pole dancing and aerial art forms!
Kat like to express herself through intuituve movement. Yoga lead her to this path of awakening, and in doing so is also introdiced her spirit to the art of dance. Katt in 2018 she competed in Semi-pro division at the Florida Pole Fitness Pole Championships placing 2nd. This little lady is a powerhouse with sensual movement! She makes classes very fun!
