Aerial Yoga Level 1 & 2 • $20.00

MUST HAVE APPROVAL FROM BEGINNER AERIAL INSTUCTOR TO SIGN UP FOR THIS CLASS>>>This class requires preregistration at $13 per visit prepaid reserved class or class card purchase. Aerial Flow is a practice that combines elements of vinyasa yoga and aerial dance. Our classes take traditional yoga poses and incorporate the aid and support of the aerial hammock to allow greater stability and ease throughout your practice. In this class, we’ll move through creative flow sequences, both in and out of the hammocks, transition to balance and strength poses, hand stands, and then explore a few basic aerial “tricks” with control and strength. Some of these movements will allow you to flip upside down, others will have you swinging from side to side, or allow you to stand suspended in air. And just in case you’re wondering, the hammocks and equipment have been load tested to 1,000 pounds! Level 1 & 2 classes will move more deeply into increasingly challenging poses, back-bends, splits and aerial strength poses (including climbs and handstands) and require flexibility, wraps including basket, a bind, strength and body awareness. While assists will be given in this class, students should be able to invert comfortably and require no aid in successfully completing angel flips. Every class ends with a 10-15 minute savasana where you’ll be cocooned in your hammock, suspended in air, fully supported, surrounded by soothing music. Class Prerequisites: Students should have taken a minimum of 3 Level 1 classes (or have permission of the instructor to join the level 1 & 2 class), be very comfortable with inversions and require no assistance for “angel flips”. 3 months consistent yoga practice is recommended before taking this class. Aerial Yoga classes take place the Somatic 360 Studio and require Pre-Registration.
