I have been attending 2 Zumba classes with Martine that I love. It's not because they are particularly easy but because they exercise all parts of my body that need to be strengthened. Martine makes it fun and challenging. I have had a RecFit yearly membership for a many years and love going. People are friendly, courteous, and very helpful. This week I will begin 4 weeks of personal training with Julia. She will develop a personally designed scheduled workout to meet my personal goals. I don't have lots of free time but want to make the best use of my time to stay strong and fit for my family and community.
I started my journey in the world of sport and fitness as a softball player; a 2x Greater Boston League All Star catcher, MIAA Division 1 North Finalist, and a member of Lyndon State’s NCAA Division III softball team. When an arm injury ended my playing career, I transitioned into coaching with one goal: prevent this from happening to anyone else. Through exercise, especially resistance training, athletes can become stronger and are less likely to become injured. I strive to help the next generation of athletes succeed in the activities they love.
In my mind, everyone is an athlete, whether competing on a playing field or not. Participating in exercise will promote a happier, healthier lifestyle, and I love sharing in that experience with others.
I currently live in St. J with my kitty, C.C.. When not at RecFit, I’m on a softball field coaching, or coming up with your next workout.
