Jennifer Lucero-EarleDescription
At the Winter Solstice, the
longest night of the year, we enter the stillness of Water—the
element of deep yin, restoration, and the wisdom that arises from
silence. It is a threshold moment: the turning of the dark toward
the light, the pause between what has been and what is yet to
come.
In this QiGong and Yoga Dance fusion, we’ll honor the season’s
invitation to slow down and root into the body’s hidden reservoirs
of vitality. Through gentle QiGong forms, we’ll awaken the
kidneys—the storehouse of jing, our ancestral essence—and feel the
downward, grounding current of winter energy. Spacious time will be
given to sense the breath as a bridge: gathering nourishment on the
inhale, releasing what is complete on the exhale, and resting in
the quiet potency in between.
Then, carried by music and the liberating spirit of Yoga Dance,
we’ll allow movement to rise from the depths—preverbal, intuitive,
expressive. Stillness and motion will weave together like water and
light, creating a living meditation that replenishes and
renews.
Together we’ll gather in community to honor the turning of the
season, replenish our inner waters, and kindle the quiet flame of
light that guides us forward.
