Theme: “Nevermore Academy”

Youth Showcase
- Showtime :: 4pm - 5pm
- Performers early arrival :: 3pm
- Doors open for Audience :: 3:45pm
- First performance begins :: 4:15

The breakdown of the evening: 

- Snacks & drinks will be available (audience can also BYOB)
- There will be a schedule that will be announced ahead of time and available in some form to the guests
- Each performer will be announced when it's their turn to perform

Performer Guidelines: 

- Will be open for our youth students to perform & attend. This means that all music, costumes, performances must be rated no higher than 'PG', nothing that requires a trigger warning
- Performances can be single, doubles, or groups

- Each performance should be a minimum of 2:30 minutes and can be no longer than 3 minutes (let us know if you need help cutting music)

- All levels of performances are welcome. Intro to Advanced.

- This is a mixed apparatus event. One night, whatever apparatus you want (one apparatus per performer)

- Each performer can only perform one individual routine. You can do one individual performance and a second one as part of a doubles or group routine

- To reserve a performance slot, there is a registration fee of $15. This tends to keep people invested and not cancel at the last minute (registration fees are non-refundable)

Apparatus Information: 

- Each performance can only have one apparatus type (example: you can't have part of your performance be on silks and another part on sling)

- If performing as a group of 2 or more and you have special requirements, you must let us know as soon as possible so we can work out the schedule and details way ahead of time

Performer Perks: 

- 1 'plus one' ticket
- 2 60 minute equipment reservations for your own individual practice (subject to availability). There must be an instructor present to assist with youth students.

- Performers will be performing “ambient style”. What this means is that your performances will be happening at different places around the studio (one act at a time) as our audience is snacking and enjoying their evening.
- There will be a schedule that will be announced ahead of time and available in some form to the guests
- Each performer will be announced when it's their turn to perform

- Because of this being an ambient-style event, you will not be limited to pole, lyra, sling, and silks. If you have your own super fun apparatus that you want to perform on, we are all about cheering you on! 

- This is not time to try to perform on an apparatus that you have never used before (especially with shortened timelines)

- Each performance can only have one apparatus type (example: you can't have part of your performance be on silks and another part on sling)

- If you are performing individually and using 2 poles in your performance, we will be implementing PSO guidelines (stage right will be spinning, stage left will be static)

- If performing as a group of 2 or more and you have special requirements, you must let us know as soon as possible so we can work out the schedule and details way ahead of time

Broadway Special Addition:

With this being a Broadway themed showcase, we are giving you the option of having a partner(s) sing your song LIVE while you perform. 

Performer Perks: 

- 1 'plus one' ticket
- 2 60 minute equipment reservations for your own individual practice (subject to availability). You will be given a discount code to use for single point reservations which can be booked thru the app during regular studio hours as long as there is not an active class going on in the area you want to book. 

Performance Reminders: 

- We will have a quick turnaround time for this event so pace yourself

- Take advantage of open gym times

- Ask for help with choreo if you're stuck. Instructors are always willing to help and so are fellow classmates

- This is NOT the time to throw in a brand new trick that you've never done before. Stick to your favorites. Stick to doing what you do best

- Make sure you have your 'go-to' moves in the event your brain betrays you during your performance

- Enjoy the opportunity to see what a gig performance could be like. Maybe it's something that you'll be interested in doing as a little side hustle!

- Practice multiple times in your costume. All your pieces and parts need to stay hidden throughout your entire performance.

- Don't forget to practice your facial expressions. Eye contact is important. Tell the story.

- Practice without mirrors...because there won't be any on performance day

- Enjoy your performance because you're amazing
