Pregnancy is a pivotal and transitional experience in one's life. Learn how you can support this rites of passage with evidence based tools that will be a great addition to your practice.
Get the skilled training you need to effectively administer a therapeutic and relaxation prenatal massage during all three trimesters of pregnancy with expert LMT, birth worker and reproductive advocate Somaliah Y Williams(Soma).
This comprehensive CEU course will go over the beneficial physiological and emotional effects of prenatal massage along with an in depth review of the anatomy and physiology of the body during the stages of pregnancy. Students will learn the complications and contraindications with an emphasis on how to identify a high risk pregnancy as well as the benefits, indications, and cautions of pregnancy massage. During the course students will also review Eastern and Western techniques to treat common discomforts during all the stages of pregnancy.
Somaliah Sadiq Williams

Somaliah is a NYS Licensed Massage Therapist and adjunct instructor of massage at Pacific College of Health and Science where she lays the foundation for future therapists. She teaches introduction to Swedish, Thai , Prenatal and Reflexology. With additional certifications and training from Thailand, Somaliah offers focus therapy in Thai massage, prenatal, postpartum recovery, infant , Thai Hara massage and Karsai Nei Tsang. Somaliah has been serving families as a Full Spectrum Community Doula since 2013. And has been a Reproductive Justice Advocate beginning in 2016 advocating for pregnant women at Rikers Island Prison. Somaliah is also a co creator of the Yinova Way, a systematic approach to reproductive body work. Somaliah also holds workshops in womb wellness via guided imagery and somatic release techniques. Somaliah gives full-spectrum holistic care to her clients with healing hands and attunement, which are the basis of her practice. She feels that the biggest aspect of healing begins with our need to be affirmed, our need to be seen and to be heard.

PARKING: PLEASE DO NOT PARK IN THE PARKING LOT ON A WEEKDAY. We are in a medical complex. The parking spots are for those patients that are infirmed and cannot walk. Please, park on the street behind the building. When leaving the rear parking lot, make a left turn, go halfway down the block, make a u-turn and come back to our building to park on the side, facing up the hill. It's a two-way street, so the cars must be on just one side of the street. Our side. Exception: Saturday & Sunday classes can park in the parking lot.
DIRECTIONS: Our entrance is right on Route 46. DO NOT take the right turn onto Hill Rd. Continue straight past Distinctively Outdoors and our building is right next door. There is a sign that says Parsippany Medical Complex. We are in the front on the right. You will see our sign on the window.
