Whether you're a total newbie to yoga, or a practicioner
looking to brush up on the basics, Gina has got you covered in this easygoing and
accessible learning environment. By partipating in this series, you
will become more physically comfortable with the alignment of
the postures, and make them work for your body by
modifying/layering in supportive props as needed. You'll be
able to walk into your next yoga class with more confidence, more
knowledge and a deeper awareness of self.
What to
expect:
Week 1: SUN SALUTATIONS
Breaking down the most noteworthy series of postures you'll
see in many of your yoga classes.
Classical Sun Salutation A and the “Vinyasa” version of Sun
Salutation A
Includes modifications for shoulder + wrist injuries +
general upper body tension.
Week 2: STANDING POSTURES
Reviewing Sun Salutations, practice flows
Focusing on Warrior postures (1,
2 + 3), Triangle pose, Extended side angle pose, Tree pose,
half moon pose, and more
Includes arm modifications and use of straps and blocks as
support in the postures
Week 3: BACKBENDS + SEATED POSTURES
Reviewing standing postures, practice flows (Dancing Warrior
series)
Prone backbends (locust pose, Bow pose)
Bridge pose
Seated forward folds and twists
Includes arm modifications and use of straps, blocks and
blankets for support
