All of the tools shared in this workshop come together to offer
you an intentional moment of self-care within the Serene
community. These workshops are based on the book “When
The Body Says No” by Gabor Mate and will follow his Seven A's
that represent the 7 key factors that he believes are essential for
emotional and physical wellbeing. <strong></strong>
This month's workshop will focus on Awareness:
Awareness involves being mindful of your internal state—your
emotions, physical sensations, and the way your body responds to
stress and emotions. This is about paying attention to what your
body is telling you in real-time and connecting with your
intuition. Maté emphasizes that many people are disconnected from
their physical sensations, leading to a lack of awareness about the
emotional stress or trauma they are carrying. Awareness helps you
recognize early signs of distress and avoid suppressing or ignoring
them, and therefore helping to prevent potential health issues.
This workshop will involve gentle yoga postures, conversation/sharing (by invitation, not expectation), journaling, meditation & breathwork.
