“Winter is the time for comfort, for good food and warmth, for the touch of a friendly hand and for a talk beside the fire: it is the time for home.” Edith Sitwell
The Winter Solstice marks the onset of winter and the time of the shortest day. Please join Iris and Darla Friday, December 19th from 7 to 8:30 p.m. for welcoming in the season with this soothing workshop that combines restorative yoga and massage. Darla will guide you through the restorative practice, and she and Iris, a licensed massage therapist, will provide hands on touch to reduce muscle tension. Props will be used for support in these longer held postures, with the intention of calming the nervous system and quieting the mind. Essential oils will be used for additional balancing and relaxation. This workshop will be a deeply nourishing and tranquil experience that will allow you to move your focus within and away from the stressors of daily life.
Cancellation Policy: Refunds of 90% up to five days prior to workshop. No refunds allowable after that time.
~Embrace the darkness, connect with your light~
The Winter Solstice, the shortest day and longest night of the year, presents us with a natural pause, a moment to align with nature, to turn inward, to find peace. Come together in community and join Nicki Sadow-Hasenberg for a special candle-lit solstice practice. This is an opportunity to slow down and connect with the rhythms of this season together. We will move from gentle slow flow yoga, to quiet restorative poses, in a relaxing and intentional practice that will also include breath awareness, sanskrit mantra, guided meditation, and opportunities for quiet reflection. The Winter Solstice is a perfect point to stand between the dark and the light, to marinate in the darkness and look ahead to the return of the light. Come honor this space, and take some time to move, relax your body, quiet your mind, and refresh your spirit.
