Throughout this intensive, you’ll explore techniques that use breath to release tension, quiet the mind, and improve body awareness. Effective breathing supports core activation, enhances endurance, promotes fascial release and hydration, and is essential for building a strong connection to the obliques and transverse abdominis. Functional movements are the foundational actions we rely on every day—lifting, bending, reaching, walking, and rotating. These natural movement patterns fall into key categories such as squatting, lunging, hinging, pushing, pulling, carrying, rotating, and walking. While they may seem simple, each requires a finely tuned balance of joint stability, muscular activation, and coordinated movement.
This workshop focuses on one of our studio’s core goals: functional training that helps you perform daily activities with greater ease, efficiency, and without pain. Many of our seemingly routine movements are surprisingly complex, and true functional strength comes from understanding how the body integrates posture, stability, and prime-mover support.
During this workshop, we will break down these essential movement patterns and explore what needs to stabilize, mobilize, and activate for healthy, balanced, and biomechanically sound movement. By stripping movement back to its essentials, you’ll gain the tools to move smarter, feel stronger, and support your body in every aspect of life.
