It is very important for the experience of everyone in the troupe that you commit to attending all sessions. The rest of your troupe is counting on you! If you have to miss any of the weekly sessions (due to illness or emergency), you may be asked to practice on your own time to catch up, take on a reduced role, or to drop out of the performance, without refund, on a case-by-case basis.
SPECIAL NOTE ABOUT ADULT CONTENT: Burlesque dance generally involves strip-tease elements and choreography and techniques taught may involve stripping down to bottoms and pasties. Sassy is a ferocious advocate of empowering people to love and celebrate their bodies, no matter their shape, size, age, or ability, and she creates a safe and supportive environment in which to explore this. That said, nobody who participates in this class will be pressured to go beyond where they feel safe in that exploration. You will always have the choice to opt out of or adapt any part of class or the choreography that you do not wish to participate in without pressure or judgment.

NOTE ABOUT ADDITIONAL INVESTMENT: If you intend to perform, you will be expected to purchase pieces and supplies to make your costume for your act, including appropriate shoes (details to be given during the session). Costuming is a very important element of Burlesque performance and costumes and shoes can be costly, depending on design and materials. This cost is NOT included in the class fee and should be budgeted for when deciding to register for the class.

Show off your sass and bring out your sexy. Over 8 weeks learn a group routine in this iconic dance style, made popular by artists such as Beyoncé and Yanis Marshall. This is a performance focused class and will culminate in a group performance at our annual Halloween Party and Showcase, in studio on October 25, 2025. This class is suitable for all levels, including those who are brand new to Heels Dancing. Shayna will work with each troupe member at their level and will adapt choreography for individuals whether they are beginners or more experienced dancers so everyone has their moment to shine.
Age 18+
PLEASE NOTE: This is NOT a pole class. Heels Dancing requires a different type of shoes than those typically worn in pole dancing. Pleaser style platform heels are NOT appropriate for this class. Please see “Heels” section under “Special Instructions” for a description of what shoes are appropriate for this class.
Pricing: Group Performance Troupes are priced the same as curriculum classes, though you receive quite a bit more value with the extra rehearsals and the performance. Students may register using 8-Week Curriculum Class purchase options or using their membership curriculum class credits.
Once you’ve established the foundations of your aerial practice you can begin to explore your apparatus creatively. This class is dedicated to supporting students through the creative process from idea to performance. Students will choreograph their very own act over the length of the session, supported by an experienced instructor. Opportunities will be made available for Act Creation students to perform at studio showcases, should they wish to. These classes run as 8-Week sessions and cost the same as a curriculum class (can be paid for with the Curriculum Class purchase options or membership curriculum credits). These sessions are supplemental to the curriculum so while students will be supported in exploring creative variations of skills they’ve already learned, no new skills will be taught in these classes. Every student will work at their own level. Students are also permitted to explore doubles/partner work with other students in the class, and to create duo and small group acts if they wish.
