In-Person - From Habits to Wholeness: A Hanna Somatics Series

In this series you will experience slow, gentle movement techniques to unlearn your habitual tension patterns and gain greater ease, coordination, and movement freedom. Each week we will journey through your muscles, joints, and fascia, offering a new area of physical focus and relationship to your whole soma. As you release old patterns and cultivate new ones, you may notice decreased pain, increased mobility, improved balance, deeper rest, and enhanced performance in daily and recreational activities.

Weekly class themes will include:

  • Low Back, Abdomen, & Somatic Center

  • Hips, Pelvis, & Low Back

  • Hips to Feet

  • Upper Back, Rib Cage, & Chest

  • Shoulders to Hands

  • Hips & Shoulders

  • Neck, Jaw, & Face

  • Whole-Soma Integration

Enrollment includes one week class recording unlimited access.

In-Person - Fluid Mobility and Stability for Healthy Joints

Healthy joints that have both fluid motion and stabilizing strength are keys to both a pain free body and our physical longevity. Healthy joints allow us to keep moving in the ways we need and want to for the duration of our life. Often in Yoga asana practices joints are unknowingly compromised to achieve a pose creating compression which causes wear and tear over time.
 
This class series will explore different areas of the body each week. We will look at pictures of joint anatomy and move the body to help us understand the mechanics of the joints. Then we will practice therapeutic movements that increase fluid motion (or our ability to slide and glide) in our joints as well as therapeutic strengthening movements for the muscles around the joints to help build better stability. We want our joints to feel spacious and strong so we can keep doing the things we love. In each session we will explore a few asanas to see how we can embody the poses with more grace and buoyancy.

Note: these will be focused sessions rather than full Yoga classes.

February Yoga Lab: Core Strength & Coordination for Mobility

We have all heard that core strength is important. Greater core coordination, mobility, and stability can be transformative for Yoga asana practice, not to mention everyday life. In this workshop we will explore more skillfull use of our abdominal, back and side-body muscles; uncovering areas where many of us overwork, underwork or lack understanding in our core. Participants will have a chance to apply new understanding to enhance familiar asanas and movement patterns. This will not be a “Killer Core” experience... Think “Skill in Action” instead. Props may be used for support and plenty of alternatives will be presented. This workshop will be accompanied by a short practice video that is yours to keep.

What is Yoga Lab? Monthly Workshops continuing through 2026, for a small group of students to explore a single asana or asana subject in-depth. Whether you are new to the asana/subject, or are looking to refine or advance your practice, this is your chance to explore, ask questions and be seen individually. Various methods, means of support and alternative asanas will be presented so that all leave with the confidence to practice joyfully and sustainably for their bodies.
