Building Collaborative
Strength Through Acrobatic Play
Drawing from L-basing,
standing acrobatics, martial arts, dance, authentic relating, and
functional movement, this is a class that will build your capacity
to safely push your edges.
We will use games, drills, and sequential skill development to
build a solid foundation of core stability, functional mobility,
proprioception, dynamic spotting, weight sharing, and timing.
We will also practice the social skills of acrobatic partnering -
communication, active listening, trust, and nervous system
regulation - building our relationships along with our physical
skill sets.
Come learn the foundational skills of aerial arts in a safe and supportive environment. You will learn basic aerial skills such as hanging safely, climbing, foot locks, and ways to get upside down, while building strength for ongoing aerial practice. You do not need any prior aerial experience or particular fitness practice to take this class.
This class is for people working to build up their strength and get back to aerial practice safely after giving birth. There is no time limit on postpartum, it's never too late to work on rebuilding core & pelvic floor function.
We will do floor work, in air drills, and work on incorporating what we've learned into in air skills.
