(Open to all): Each class will begin with a group discussion time followed by meditiation and gentle yoga postures suited for practioners of all levels. Breathwork is incorporated along with the use of yoga props to support overall well-being. This class adds a healing aspect to anyone's life who is feeling seperated from themselves or the world around them.
The characteristics and effects of addiction can easily be described as separation. Addictive behaviors disconnect us from ourselves, our loved ones, our environment and so much more.
Conversely, yoga itself means union, integration, balance. Yoga and its practices teach the fine art of balancing our multi-dimensional lives while living in a complex world.
Y12SR is a holistic model to address the physical, mental and spiritual dis-ease of addiction in any form. Informed by the latest research in neuroscience and trauma healing, Y12SR “connects the dots” by combining the somatic approach of yoga with the cognitive approach of the 12-step recovery model – the most well-known addiction recovery program in the world, with millions of active practitioners.

Have you ever wanted to deepen your understanding of yoga as a
philosophy and spiritual practice?
The yoga sutras offer practical, applicable teachings to help
students examine and calm their minds, identify patterns, and
ultimately reduce their suffering, further evolving perspective,
for a more peaceful, compassionate and joyful life.
Moiira's 10-class course offers practitioners an in-depth,
carefully curated look into Patanjali’s Yoga Sutras, the ancient
text from which modern yoga was born. Each 1.5 hour session will
include a philosophical teaching from the sutras, meditation, a
physical yoga practice, deep relaxation, a healing sound bath, and
integrative relaxation, as well as written materials to take home.
Signing up for the entire series is encouraged, as each session
builds on the concepts offered in earlier sessions.
The program is divided into three sections: 1) how the sutras
define yoga, 2) working with your mind, and 3) how to take your
yoga practice off the mat and into your life.
Each week, we will examine a relevant yoga sutra in both English
and in Sanskrit (the sacred language of yoga), the meaning of that
sutra, awareness of its concepts, and how practicing it
consistently might be helpful.
Space is limited, so please sign up early
The workshop is appropriate for students at all levels of
practice.
The series is approved for yoga teacher continuing education,
through Yoga Alliance. Moira is a Yoga Alliance YACEP provider.
