Tin Man Tune-Up: Rewiring the Nervous System from the Inside Out
A 6-Week Practical Tune-Up for Mind and Body
Ever feel like you're walking around with rust in your gears? Like you're doing everything “right,” but something just feels… off? Whether it’s from a high-impact moment like falling out of a perfectly good airplane, or years of carrying quiet stress, your nervous system remembers what your mind tries to forget.
We call this the Tin Man Tune-Up — because even the toughest guys get stuck, and everyone deserves the tools to loosen the bolts and move freely again.
In this 6-week series, Lindsey Knapp, veteran, advocate, and trauma-informed instructor, will walk you through a process that connects the dots between your brain, your body, and your recovery. You’ll learn how trauma lives in the nervous system — and more importantly, how to release it.
No trust falls. No group sharing. No need to talk about anything you don’t want to.
You’ll get:
-
Straightforward education on how your body stores trauma
-
Tools to help calm your nervous system and respond rather than react
-
Breathwork, movement, and meditation techniques that actually work
-
A no-pressure, judgment-free space where your experience is respected
This isn’t therapy — this is practical, science-backed training for your nervous system, grounded in the research of:
-
Dr. Bessel van der Kolk – The Body Keeps the Score
-
Dr. Jon Kabat-Zinn – Full Catastrophe Living
-
Dr. Bruce Perry – The Boy Who Was Raised as a Dog
-
Dr. Ida Rolf, Dr. Richard Miller, and others whose work has reshaped how we understand trauma recovery
You’ll leave with real tools, not just theory. And you’ll know how to use them — on the job, in the car, at home, or whenever you feel off-center.
Bonus:
Registration includes one
month of unlimited yoga at Sanford Yoga & Community
Center. Use it to supplement your healing, or just show up and
