Christine Altman returns to Starr Mill Yoga to help us with balance!
Join us for a playful workshop that wakes up the tissues and the brain with a series of activities and exercises that instantly improve balance. Exercises learned can be practiced to treat balance like a muscle that needs a good workout. This class focuses on postural restoration, not traditional yoga, but it will help your balance whether on or off the mat.
Fun Fact! Did you know that yoga asana, the practice of movement and poses, is only a small part of the totality of yoga? Do you perhaps already know this aspect and are curious as to what those other elements are and would like to broaden your perspective on them? Well then welcome to the study of the 8 Limbs! In this workshop we will go over the philosophical lens of what yoga is, it’s origins, and how you can adopt a more meaningful and broader practice of yoga into all aspects of your life beyond the physical practice.
Benefits: Tools to create harmony; mentally, emotionally, physically and spiritually, for yourself when you’re off the yoga mat and are within the daily momentum of your own life and the world around you.
This workshop will include some movement and breathing practices to settle in, before we begin a deep dive into discussion and questions. Handouts will be provided. Optional Materials: A notebook and pen for your own notes, yoga mat, and any personal props especially for use in a comfortable seated position.
This offering is open to and designed for anyone from beginner practitioner to the more seasoned yogi.
Levitate Sound Immersion Experience will take you on a meditative journey through the nature of body, mind, and spirit. Giant gongs, soothing chimes, various hertz frequencies, - rhythmic drums, harmonic and mono-neural singing bowls… plus more! We intend to create a unique somatic body/mind experience for you. I invite you to explore, release and reset.
Yoga mats, blankets eye pillows and bolsters are provided but additional blankets, pillows, and zero gravity chairs are great to bring to create your unique space.

The balls stimulate the nerves that provide positional feedback to your brain; consequently, you can sense whether you are in or out of alignment. You are able to make better choices about your position in space, as it relates to your activities.
