Relieve Tension and Restore Balance
The goal of this workshop is to give you the tools to facilitate freedom of movement and a sense of ease within your body and mind. We will use yoga practices such as breath-work, movement exercises, myofascial self-massage, and progressive muscle relaxation to release chronic pain and tension in the upper back, neck, shoulders, and nervous system.
We will cover the basic anatomy of the spine, upper back, neck, and shoulders, and their relationship with each other, so that you can understand and address the common causes of chronic tension and pain. You will learn to identify and change postural misalignments, dysfunctional movement patterns and release chronic muscular and fascial tension. You will learn proper postural alignment, how to stabilize the shoulder girdle, and increase range of motion in neck and shoulders.
Somatic Yoga is a slow, dynamic practice that integrates movement and breath to re-establish the brain-to-muscle connection in the Somatic Nervous System. It helps reverse ‘Sensory Motor Amnesia’ in the brain; both waking up and relaxing the muscles, fascia, sensory and motor nerves and down-regulating the entire nervous system. This decreases pain, increases range of motion, lubricates joints, improves posture, and allows the nervous system to regulate the other systems of the body.
In addition to somatic movements, we will increase our mind-body awareness through Yoga Tune-Up Self Myofascial Release, and a Yoga Nidra guided meditation. The invitation is to come and have a conversation with your body, giving it the time, space, and loving awareness it needs to reveal your inherent wisdom and innate wholeness.

This class blends the ancient wisdom of yoga with modern somatic principles to explore the profound connection between mind, body, and spine, learning how to release tension, unwind chronic holding patterns, and restore a sense of ease and fluidity to your movements.
We will cover the basic anatomy of the spine and the deep core and deep back muscles that support and mobilize it. We will address the common causes of chronic tension and pain. You will learn to identify and change postural misalignments, and dysfunctional movement patterns and release chronic muscular and fascial tension. Through this process, you will cultivate a deeper understanding of your body's needs and gain tools for self-care and healing.

True wellness is rarely a solo journey; it is nurtured through the community we build and the friends who lift us up. This February 13th, swap the traditional for the transformational. Whether you are celebrating Galentine’s Day or simply looking to honor the vital connections in your life, join us for a 60-minute flight designed to celebrate the spirit of friendship and support with a special “Chocolate Shavasana” at the end.
The Experience
Using the aerial silk as both a support system and a tool for expansion, this class blends playfulness with deep restoration.
Who is this for?
While we are highlighting Galentine’s Day, this class is open to everyone. Whether you come with your best friend, a partner, or arrive solo to connect with the Taproot community, the focus remains the same: taking intentional time to celebrate the bonds that sustain us. No previous aerial experience is required—just a willingness to explore and a heart open to connection.
Join Lyndsey Stropkey and John Welton to rest, receive, and rejuvenate your mind, body, and spirit during this restorative practice. We will breathe and connect inward with some gentle movement to begin. Then, Lyndsey & John will assist you as you set up in restorative yoga postures using cushions, blocks, blankets, and chairs to support your body in completely letting go and relaxing. While you rest, Lyndsey and John will be practicing Reiki, both hands-on and hands off, as well as sound healing with toning, chanting, singing bowls, and live acoustic music. At times, we may use aromatherapy and gentle massage. Other certified healing arts practitioners may come in from time to time to nurture you as well. Reiki can be done with no physical contact if preferred. Please let the instructor know if this is your preference!
