It was so interesting to practice mudra together in the single session I did last month that I, and others in the workshop, wanted to continue practicing together. Mudra is an energetic, meditative, healing practice that seems subtle but is astonishingly obvious as an experience. For example, in the last workshop we did a practice that let us feel the upper breathing space (index fingertip to tip of thumb), the middle breathing space (middle fingertip to tip of thumb), and lower breathing space (little fingertip to tip of thumb), and in emails I received after class some people expressed surprise at how clearly breathing (prana) was focused by mudra. If you are interested, let’s practice together. You can sign up for single sessions or the whole series.
Whether you are brand new to iRest Yoga Nidra, or have been taking classes but are wanting to spend a bit more time exploring the fundamental aspects of the protocol, this Fundamentals Series is for you.
Each week, Susanne will guide you through an in-depth exploration of a different step of the iRest protocol. Class will consist of some lecture, discussion, and a guided practice.

Did you know that your posture, how you walk and how you breathe influences and is influenced by the pelvis? The center of the body, the pelvis, is a site to revere and respect. It’s integral to so much of our everyday movement, on and off the mat. This central crossroads plays a key role in overall stability, freedom of movement and functional mobility. It’s the center of balance and creation; as such, it’s the hub of health.
From this workshop, you’ll:
- Develop an understanding of key physical components, energetic aspects and mental associations with the pelvis
- Understand the six directions of movement of the pelvis and how movement patterns affect alignment
- Learn how instability in the pelvis can influence up-chain and down-chain movement issues
- Learn about pelvic floor muscles and their role in everything from breathing to stability
Tap into your breath, movement and posture during this workshop and join me in paying homage this powerful hub of health and all it offers us in everyday life.
