This workshop for women will provide a space to grow in knowledge of the anatomy and function of the pelvic floor. We will have a short discussion each week and proceed to breathwork and movement that support and nourish the pelvic floor. We have four meetings on Saturdays, January 3, 10, 17, and 24, from 1:30 to 2:45 at The Yoga Place. Bring a yoga mat, or we have mats available for you to borrow or purchase.
10% of the proceeds is donated to Ohio Forest Sanctuaries.
For women- This six week series The Playful Pelvis is an opportunity to come and play. To spend time in your body remembering what has brought you joy and freedom. We will dive into basic pelvic floor anatomy, pelvic floor postures for building curiosity and connection. The majority of our time will be spent exploring creative, playful movement including hula hooping, skipping and more. Raechel is a certified 200 HR yoga instructor, Pelvic Floor Yoga Instructor, Trauma Informed Yoga Facilitator, trained advocate, and has her BA in Psychology. For over six years she has taught in person and online classes for individuals, studios, and nonprofit organizations. Before teaching yoga she spent 8 years as a therapeutic horseback riding instructor and has extensive education/experience in cyclical living. She teaches from an invitational, trauma informed lense bringing joy, agency, choice, and empowerment to individuals. When she is not teaching yoga she is at a writing group somewhere, drinking tea, or laughing and bowing introducing herself to the trees deep within the forest. You will often see her carrying around her pelvic floor model, full skeleton model, super giant water bottle, lunchbox of snacks, and looking for where she left her yoga mat! She loves meeting people where they are with compassion, anatomy terms, humor, grace, and a veggie pun.
