Accepting donations through WellnessLiving

You can accept donations through WellnessLiving by making a donation product available to your clients for purchase. Clients can make donations by purchasing the product. Additionally, you can change the price of the donation product when making a sale to allow your clients to make donations with custom amounts.

Alternatively, you can create multiple Purchase Options with the same rules and different prices that clients can choose from to decide how much they want to pay for services. With this option, your clients can select a higher or lower priced Purchase Option based on how much they want to donate.

In this article:

    To create a donation product:

    1. Click the App Drawer button .
    2. In the App Drawer, click Setup.
    3. On the Setup menu, click Store Configuration.
    4. On the Store Configuration menu, click Products.
    5. Click ADD PRODUCT.
    6. On the Create Product page, enter the product’s details into the required fields:
      1. For details on specific fields, see the Product general information settings and the Product advanced settings.
      2. Under Product Options, select This product has multiple options. Under OPTION, enter a name for the donation amount. Under COST, enter $0. Under RETAIL PRICE, enter the amount for the donation. To add more donation amounts, click the plus sign next to the option. Repeat this step for each donation amount that you want to make available to your clients.
    7. Click SAVE. The donation product is added to WellnessLiving. Clients can make donations to your business by purchasing the product.

    To sell donations with custom amounts:

    1. Create a donation product by following the steps in To create a donation product.
      • To sell a donation product with a custom amount:
        1. Complete steps 1-7 in Making a sale.
        2. Manually change the price of the donation product in the shopping cart.
        3. Click Proceed to Checkout.
        4. Select each payment method the client wants to use (e.g., Virtual Terminal, Card Swiper, Cash). In most cases, the total payment is split between the selected payment methods equally, but you can adjust the amounts as required. If you select Gift Cards, you must enter the required code, and the amount on the gift card will be entered automatically.
        5. Click Complete.
      • To sell a donation product with a custom amount using the client’s account balance:
        1. A staff member can add to a client’s account balance by following the steps in Clearing or adjusting a client’s account balance. Alternatively, clients can add to their positive account balance by following the steps in Achieve Client App: Viewing and managing your account balance or Client Web App: Viewing and managing your account balance.
        2. Complete steps 1-7 in Making a sale.
        3. Manually change the price of the donation product in the shopping cart.
        4. Select Account as the payment method.
        5. Click Complete.
      • To sell a donation product with a custom amount using a gift card:
        1. Create or modify a gift card to purchase the donation product by following the steps in Creating or modifying a gift card with set dollar values. Select Allow custom amounts at checkout under Checkout.
    2.  Complete steps 1-7 in Making a sale.
    3. Manually change the price of the donation product in the shopping cart.
    4. Click Proceed to Checkout.
    5. Select Gift Cards as the payment method. Enter the required code, and the amount on the gift card will be entered automatically.
    6. Click Complete.

    To create donation Purchase Options:

    1. Create or modify a Purchase Option with the desired rules by following the steps in Creating or modifying a membership or Creating or modifying a session pass.
    2. Click the App Drawer button .
    3. In the App Drawer, click Setup.
    4. On the Setup menu, click Store Configuration.
    5. On the Store Configuration menu, click Purchase Options.
    6. Click the Purchase Option you created in the list. You may have to browse the list, use the Search option, or filter the list to find the Purchase Option.
    7. Click DUPLICATE.
    8. Click the Purchase Option you duplicated in the list. You may have to browse the list, use the Search option, or filter the list to find the Purchase Option.
    9. Change the name of the Purchase Option to reflect the amount that will be donated when clients choose this Purchase Option. For example, $5 Donation for one Class.
    10. Change the Price of the membership to include the amount of the donation.
    11. Click SAVE.
    12. Repeat steps 2-8 for each donation amount that you want to make available to your clients.
