Adding a comment field to a Lead Capture Widget

The Lead Capture Widget allows you to collect specific information from clients. On some occasions, your clients may want to include specific notes or comments, such as personal notes or inquiries into the Lead Capture form. You can do this by adding a comment field to the Lead Capture Widget. To add a comment field to your lead capture widget, you must first create a custom comment field followed by adding the custom comment field to the Lead Capture Widget.

    To create a custom comment field:

    1. Click the App Drawer button .
    2. In the App Drawer, click Setup.
    3. On the Setup menu, click Clients.
    4. On the Clients menu, click Edit Fields.
    5. Click ADD CUSTOM FIELD.
    6. Under Field Name, enter Comments and select Public.
    7. After you select Public, you will see the following options:
      • Required – Select this option if you want to make this comment field a required field.
      • Display At Registration – Select this option if you want to display this comment field every time a client registers with your business.
    8. Under Field Type, select Text from the dropdown list.
    9. Under Default Value, fill out the information that you want to display by default or leave the field as empty.
    10. Under Rows, set the number of Rows to determine the size of the comment area.
    11. Click SAVE.

    To add a custom comment field to a Lead Capture Widget:

    1. Click the App Drawer button .
    2. In the App Drawer, click Setup.
    3. On the Setup menu, click Website Widgets.
    4. On the Website Widgets menu, click Lead Capture.
    5. Click the skin to which you want to add the comment field.
    6. Under Fields, set the DISPLAY option next to Comments to ON.
      • The REQUIRED checkbox next to Comments will automatically be checked to make this a mandatory field when filling out the lead capture form.
    7. Click NEXT.
    8. Click SUBMIT.
