Deactivating or deleting a gift card

If you want to remove a gift card from your store, you can deactivate or delete the gift card.

Deleting a gift card will remove it permanently from WellnessLiving. Only gift cards that have never been sold to clients can be deleted. If a gift card has already been sold, it must be deactivated to remove it from your store.

When you deactivate a gift card, clients won’t be able to purchase new gift cards of that type. However, clients who already own the gift card will still be able to redeem it. If you want to deactivate a gift card purchased by a client, you can do so from their client profile.

After a gift card has been deactivated, it won’t appear on the Gift Cards page by default. To view a deactivated gift card, you must change the filter settings.

In this article:

    To deactivate or delete a gift card:

    1. Click the App Drawer button .
    2. In the App Drawer, click View All.
    3. In the list, click Setup. You can filter the list by entering Setup into the Search field.
    4. On the Setup menu, click Store Configuration.
    5. On the Store Configuration menu, click Gift Cards.
    6. In the list, click the gift card you want to deactivate or delete. You may have to browse the list, use the Search option, or filter the list to find the gift card.
    7. On the Gift Card page, deactivate or delete the gift card:
      • To deactivate the gift card:
        1. Set the ACTIVATE GIFT CARD option to OFF.
        2. Click SAVE.
      • To delete the gift card:
        1. Click DELETE GIFT CARD.
        2. In the confirmation popup, click OK.

    To deactivate a client’s purchased gift card:

    1. On the Top Nav Bar, click the Search button , and enter the client’s information in the box. You can enter the client’s name, phone number, email address, UID, or client ID.
    2. In the list of clients displayed, click the client’s name.
    3. On the side menu, click Account.
    4. On the Account menu, click Passes & Memberships.
    5. In the list, find the gift card you want to modify. You may have to browse the list, use the Search option, or filter the list to find the gift card.
    6. Under the Action column of the gift card, click the Action button and select Deactivate.
    7. In the confirmation popup, click OK.

    To view deactivated gift cards:

    1. Click the App Drawer button .
    2. In the App Drawer, click View All.
    3. In the list, click Setup. You can filter the list by entering Setup into the Search field.
    4. On the Setup menu, click Store Configuration.
    5. On the Store Configuration menu, click Gift Cards.
    6. Click Filter.
    7. Under Status, select Inactive.
    8. Click Apply. Any deactivated gift cards will be displayed.
